Developing Novel Medicines for Immune-Mediated Diseases

Spero Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company advancing innovative medicines for immune-mediated diseases, beginning with SP001, a third-generation anti-CD40L antibody in development for IgG4-related disease.

Spero Therapeutics is applying proven clinical execution capabilities to immunology and inflammation drug development programs with clear unmet medical needs

Building Value

Purposeful Selection, Agile Execution

Spero prioritizes programs where compelling biology, clear patient need, and meaningful differentiation from existing treatment options converge. Building on a proven track record of clinical development and execution, including the successful development of Utebzi™1, our team is advancing therapies with the potential to meaningfully improve patients’ lives.

SP001 in Rheumatology

Where Biology, Patient Need, and Clinical Path Converge

SP001 is a third-generation anti-CD40L antibody, designed to inhibit a key immune signaling pathway involved in driving inflammation and disease. By acting upstream in the immune cascade, SP001 has the potential to reduce disease activity without broadly eliminating immune cells. Spero is advancing SP001 in IgG4-related disease, a rare, systemic disease marked by chronic inflammation and tissue fibrosis, and evaluating its potential in additional immune-mediated conditions.
